About Nassau and The Bahamas
Click here for large, zoomable maps The Islands of The Bahamas are crazy beautiful. We've both been there quite a few times, so we're a tiny bit jaded, but we still recall the first time we laid eyes on the amazingly light blue water so clear you can see the bottom at 70 feet. The number and variety of marine life is probably without equal anywhere, and the simple beauty of its soft, white- and pink-sand beaches is virtually the definition of paradise. Nassau is the capital of the country, and it mixes laid-back Carribean charm with the vestiges of its British colonial past. The pace is e.z. and the air is soft and warm. You should definitely try to do a snorkeling or Scuba outing - we guarantee it will knock your socks off! Note that U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere, so there's no need to exchange money.
