Activities in Nassau
There is no shortage of activities in and around Nassau. For the landlubbers, there's tons of shopping, golf, and of course the casinos. Once your amazement about the beauty of the crystal blue Bahamian waters subsides a little, you might consider diving into it yourself - there are many options for Scuba diving and snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, or just lolling in the surf. The water tends to be bathtub warm and utterly delightful. There are also boating options, from glass-bottom boats to hydrofoils to JetSkis to water taxis from downtown Nassau across the small channel to Paradise Island. And you might want to check out the Bacardi Rum plant on the south side of the island. Can you say “piña colada,” boys and girls?

Getting Around
Nassau is a very small island, and there are several good transportation options. The wedding venue is a little off the beaten track (hence its name, “A Stone’s Throw Away”!), so you'll need to plan your transport if you're staying at Cable Beach, downtown Nassau, or Paradise Island.

Special Events
We've just learned that the second annual Bahamas International Film Festival will be held in Nassau on our wedding weekend (from December 8-11)! Headquartered at Atlantis, there will be numerous film screenings and other events related to the Festival taking place around Nassau and Paradise Island. On Saturday night, Spike Lee will be honored for Career Achievement - maybe Spike will “Do The Right Thing” and drop by our reception after he receives his award! ;-) So bring your latest opus with you, rub elbows with industry insiders – and who knows? You might get green-lighted. A guide to events and the films being shown will be posted on the BIFF site at the end of October.
